Jack @ Royal Steering Wheels

Just a heads-up...recently had the steering wheel retrimmed on our 1 series by Jack - great guy and great work - very happy with the result and service!!

Went for alcantara top/bottom with the perforated sides and M Sport stitching - highly recommend him (no personal interest in his business, just my thumbs up based on service and product quality)!

Think he's got pics on his website: www.RoyalSteeringWheels.com

You are in for a treat!!

Re Alacantara vs. leather - he mentioned the former needs more care i.e. no dirty/greasy hands etc

You can pretty much choose what you like i.e. any colour stitching / material etc - believe its all made to order

I love it.

Do you know if they offer a service to convert them to a flat bottom style?

Thanks

No he doesnt do flat bottom.

That essentially means sanding off the bottom of the existing wheel. Its not a great method, therefore doesnt offer it.

Some people in europe do it, but i wouldnt trust it.

Just buy a performance steering wheel (non electric) and have it retrimmed to your specs imo.

Jacks a busy guy!!!! I was hoping to get mine done before GAYDON.. but he said it would be a push... so instead he will have it ready at Gaydon and install it then HAPPY DAYS!

Jack did the wheel in my old e46, top bloke and top quality work! Made you feel like you were sat behind the wheel of a new car. He will be doing the one in my e90 when I get round to it

Im excited to get mine back

I opted for full black nappa leather all the way around
Light Silver stitching and matching silver centre stripe.
Simple but in keeping with my new interior

Totally agree with you. Jack did my car too. Wheel, handbrake and gear gaiters. Oyster nappa leather with custom stitching. Excellent service and even better quality of work

All looks so good.

How does it work? you remove your own wheel and send it to him? or you drive down and leave your car there for as long as its takes?

I guess either way you can't use your car until its done.
