Almost Done Adding Jl Subs And Jl Amp !
Hey,
So I bought my jl subs almost two years ago and never really got time and money saved up to actually set it up in my car. So I finally decided to purchase the amp, BCK, and a wiring kit. I do not know how to install it at all. But my girlfriend's dad is a genius at doing this kind of stuff, he has a massive home theatre system set up he did by himself. Also, he added to his classic stingray and his ram 1500, so in other words he has lots of experience. He is building me a custom box for the two 10' JL's that would face toward the seats. The amp that I have purchased (he told me to) already has a hi-something- something connection on it. My car has the HI-FI Sound System. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] __________________________________________________ __________________________________________ STARTED Done all the wiring for the amps and set it up neatly, without any wires showing. The only thing left is to build the box, wrap it in fabric and throw the subs in Drilled a hole into the box to put the bass control knob. I put it in the box because its an easy replacement. I can go to the junk yard and pick it up for less than twenty bucks if I ever wanted to sell the car or get rid of the knob.. [IMG][/IMG] Amp Mounted and all wiring done [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Reading online that tapping into the rear speakers is a no-no for the base speakers ? I have the hifi package (09 Canada). Please do not tell me I have to tap it from somewhere else -_-

What do you need to know i wired my own system with a sub. Are you using the factory radio with just a sub add on? I used a AUDIOCONTROL LC2I as my line converted got it from ebay, best money i ever spent i recommend you do the same look it up. if you need pics of where i tapped in for my remote wire and stuff let me know

No help in the audio forum, really???
What you need to do is tap the underseat woofer outputs of the OEM amp in the trunk. Search this forum for "wiring diagram" and you will find the color code for the wires of the HiFi system. Feed both channels into the JL amp since they are stereo, and need to be summed. But make sure the amp can handle the 2x40w amp outputs, or get a good quality LOC (line output converter), like the audio control unit already mentioned.

Sounds similar to my setup.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...43&postcount=4 You could do this without cutting any wires if you get the male and female connectors for the underseats from the dealer. |
