Powerhaus Performance dyno results | Active Autowerke tuned 128i
Hello all. So the Powerhaus Performance Dyno Day was a big hit. This is an excellent shop. Great guys there and they know what they're doing. They had cars ranging from an SLS AMG to Evo 9s. In the group that showed up for the dyno we had everything from an E30 S52, E46 M3, E60 M5, 1M, 750i, and a lot of tuned 135i and 335i. It was a great time. 631 was the only other N52 powered car to show up unfortunately. He took vids of most of the cars so I'm sure we'll see a compilation up at some point.
Here are my results with the 128i. It's a 2008 6MT with the N51 motor which has the 3 stage manifold stock. The engine/exhaust mods include the charcoal air filter delete and the Active Autowerke tune; all else is stock. Powerhaus uses a Mustang Dyno so the numbers are about 10% lower than they would be on a dyno jet. This was the first time I've had this car on a dyno and I'm impressed. My car put down 221 whp and 207 wtq. Using a 15% drivetrain loss, this car is putting out 254hp and 238tq at the crank. Video, the pull is at 1:30 and another at 2:20 Dyno graph: Last edited by chris82; 11-25-2014 at 03:27 PM.. |

those are great results. But I find hard to believe your car is putting down 220 at the wheels on a mustang dyno.. That means it would be putting down around 230 at the wheels on a dynojet ?? , in which case the power at the crank would be a lot more than 250 .. I dont recall anyone putting down so much from the AA tune ,. Maybe I m missing out something

Here's my dyno. Believe it or not that mustang dyno read's pretty low. Stock 135i and a stock 335i both dyno'd 240rwhp. I don't recall the torque numbers but they were both identical between the two cars.
This is my dyno. edit: me and Chrisar will have to do a pull one time i guess to compare.

My apologies, i forgot to post about it in here. The event was "full" as in a bunch of people called to reserve a spot, but not all showed up or dyno'd so there was room for a couple more cars. We plan on doing it in the spring again, don't worry.

N51 running only an AA tune with not exhaust, header or intake mods(minuse charcoal delete)? Sounds pretty damn impressive...

Nice shop, had a car tuned there a couple of years ago. The owner has/had a ridiculous GT3 ... Impressive numbers! Excited to get the AA tune along with their catless headers. If they have a spring event and my mods are in, I would be down to go!

I think the N51's have the 3-stage intake Manifold, and the AA tune takes that and turns it into 330/Z4 3.0si figures. Last edited by 2006E85; 11-24-2014 at 09:45 AM.. |

You're correct on the manifold part. And I noticed my numbers are spot on with an AA tuned Z4 3.0si or 330i

The results for the N51 are impressive. I would like to see what you put down with headers. I have an N51 myself and maybe I will be happy with just a tune and intake/exhaust. Your car put down the same numbers as an N52 with headers and a tune and other mods!

Makes wanna get on a more powerful platform. But been there and done that, priorities are very different now. Both of you got really nice numbers, i will see less since im Xdriive. Hoping the catless headers and intake mod make up for the difference in drivetrain loss. Who would have thought the n51 could make as much power as it does. |
