How to tell transmission type?
I just went on the ZF website to checkout the maximum torque ratings for my 435i X-Drive. I've read previously that the limit was 450 nm but on the website it says 500, also would it be possible to have the second transmission option? Both are 4 wheel drive. Any definitive way to know?
8HP45 Standard / four wheel drive 8 500 8HP55A four wheel drive 8 650 Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Its actually the 8HP45Z. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...33&hg=24&fg=05
The tranny is rated to 450ft/lbs with a gas engine, 500 with diesel. That said, theres a huge safety margin built-in, so handing 600+ should be no problem. |

Yep. http://www.zf.com/media/media/produc..._DataSheet.pdf
Problem is, 450nm is 331ft/lbs. How much does the MPPK N55 put out? 332ft/lbs IIRC. So BMW is overpowering the box right out of the box. |
