CPA Exams
Anyone else in the process of studying/taking the CPA Exams? So far I have studied for 2 and have passed them both. Currently studying for my 3rd exam (FAR) in April. Anyone have an CPA exam horror stories to tell?

When I went to take Reg I sat down and put in my NTS number. After typing it in the computer shut off on me and the Prometrics people restarted the computer for me, but the code had been authenticated already, which meant I couldn't log in under it again so I couldn't take the test that day anymore. To make it worse, it was the last day of that testing window, so I had to postpone it over a month and a half and ended up failing when I was finally able to take it.

Jesus dude that's rough! I took BEC in November and passed and then last month I took REG and I passed. Both times I walked out of the exam feeling like I bombed though.
What I really hate is the online score posting time. I had to wait 3 weeks after I took REG to see my grade. They posted the grades at 1AM EST last Wednesday. So obviously no one is going to be able to sleep that night before they get their grade. And then if they passed they are too excited to sleep and if they fail they are too depressed to sleep.

Same dance, different reason. I'll be in a Prometric center next week taking my CRPC exam.
No horror stories yet, and hopefully not to report after I take this next exam. |

I'm a CPA since 2010. FAR is the hardest for most, but I actually got my lowest score on BEC. Probably because it's supposed to be the easiest and I studied the least for it. No horror stories other than studying for it sucked.

Watch for the mindgames, they're entertaining.
Ahole next to me decided to flip to the last question (which is always the shortest) in the UFE (called different up here, but same CPA crap), but I saw him do that. So when I saw him move on to the next question earlier than me, I wasn't too worried because I knew he started with the shortest question. But should have seen the person on the other side of him - they didn't realize and got frantic thinking they were out of time and not going to finish. I would have felt sorry for that individual, except some need to fail in order for me to pass, so I was ok with it. |

First, in those two states (where I took 1 exam each so far) you are put in a room with a bunch of computers and each computer has high walls all around it on all sides except for behind you. So really the only person you could see is the person behind you and that's if you turn all the way around. Second, at the CPA testing centers the centers are not just for CPA exams they offer like 200 different tests there. My first time at one I was talking to some kid in the lobby area and he was testing for his truck drivers license. So you have no way of knowing what exam/test someone is taking so seeing someone leave early (which isn't really possible to begin with because of the walls all around you) means nothing.
