WTB e90 sedan, MT, sport, cold weather, 330i, 328i

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a well cared for e90 sedan with low miles, minimal mods (if any), ideally within striking distance of the DC metro area. Although I am willing to travel for the right car. This might be a pipe dream, but I'm posting just in case...

Among other BMWs, I previously owned an e46 2005 325i, sport, cold weather, which I bought new. A growing family prompted me to sell it. Now we have a different car situation and I would like to return to bimmer world, and would like to find a good condition e90.

Must haves:
  • Manual transmission.
  • Sport package
  • Fold-down rear seats.
  • Heated front seats.
  • Non-smoking car. It can't smell like smoke.
  • Good condition - I understand these cars are not new, so they will not be perfect. But up-to-date on maintenance with no warning lights on, ideally the suspension and drive train are maintained
  • Low miles - We all want this, and it's subjective because really the condition is the most important thing. But the lower the better, since I'd like to have the car for a few years as a daily driver.

Nice to haves:
  • Prefer black interior but am open to others
  • 330i vs. 328i - I prefer the 2006 330i because it's naturally aspirated. Open to 328i. I like the 335i, but don't want to deal with turbo replacement.
  • Colors - I am open to other colors, but faves tend to be medium to dark blues, the various versions of grays, silvers, and blacks. Not a big fan of white.

So having gone through all of this, I look back at my post and it definitely reads like a wish list. My own reaction is "good luck with that." So...I'm not sure whether this car is just out there or not. However, if you're thinking of selling such a car, let me know.

Cheers and thanks for reading.
-Jim

Jim: I have the car you're looking for. It comes with a few extras too - BMW short shifter, BMW Performance Exhaust, AFE Intake (stock box is available too) etc. Let me know. I'm selling only because I have 2 six speeds in my 4 car fleet, and this one's paid for so less hassle to sell.

X35 MGR, that looks like a very nice car. The one thing it doesn't have is split fold-down rear seats. That's a tough one for me. I just feel like there will be times that I need it for practical reasons, whether it's a trip to home depot, or some piece of gear for the kids. I'm a sailor, so there are pieces of boat gear and things where the fold down comes in handy.

My wife tells me to give up on the fold-down rear seats, because we have an Outback for things like that. Maybe she's right, but I'm not sold on that approach yet. I had an e30 back in the day with fixed rear seats and it bugged me from time-to-time. However, I didn't have an Outback to offset it.

Thanks, and no worries. I still enjoy the car so it'll sell when it sells. I will check on the rear seat thingy, but you obviously know how to determine that from the pixs. Good luck with the search.

Yeah, you can see in the pic of the trunk that it's not a folding seat set up. Good luck with the sale!

I have a 2006 330i with everything that you're looking for, except that it's white. I think with the fairly dark tint it looks pretty sexy though (

). I'm unfortunately not ready to sell it yet, as I still haven't found a good replacement vehicle. I'll definitely let you know if that changes anytime in the near future. Miles are also a bit high...closing in on 90k.

That's a great picture, hockeydude35. I'm still not sure about white (just a personal preference for what's "me"), but let me know if the time comes.
Cheers,
Jim

PSUSMU, thanks for writing, but I'm dead set on RWD--sorry about that!
Cheers,
Jim

I'm considering selling my 330i which ticks a lot of your boxes, but not all. It's a bit more upgraded than you were originally looking for, and Montana isn't exactly within striking distance of DC. Having said that it's quite a specimen, and was car of the month around here a while ago. It's jet black over terracotta leather with 59,300 miles.

Album of pics:

And a video:

And a list of goodies...

- BMW Sport, Cold Weather, & Premium Package (heated electronic adjustable sport seats, 18" BMW style 162 wheels, Convenient Access, Bluetooth, Sat/Nav/iDrive computer, 60/40 split rear seat.)

Upgrades...

- BMW M-Technic body kit with carbon fiber mirrors, spoiler, diffuser, and splitters
- Koni FSD / Eibach Pro suspension kit
- 19" MORR VS8.1 forged wheels w/ Goodyear F1 245F/275R
- BMW Performance electronic steering wheel, alcantara / leather & LED timing / status display
- BMW Performance Exhaust Cat-Back
- BMW Performance shifter with Rogue Engineering short shift kit
- BMW Performance Intake with RPI scoops
- BMW Performance Strut Brace
- BMW "Blackline" tail lights, "Shadowline" matte black trim & kidney grills
- Carbon fiber center console, aluminum pedals & e-brake, alcantara shift and e-brake boot, M3 iDrive knob

PM me if you're interested and we can talk a bit more.

Beautiful car, BigSky. And I might have co dissected it. Unfortunately, I've just made my purchase. I am now the owner of a 2006 330i, Jet Black with black interior, sport package, premium package, cold weather package, and currently 55k miles on it. Thanks though!
