no, but don't be nervous. there has never been a problem with anyone getting lasik ever except for someone who had some type of cancer and didn't say it and died from the medication he picked up at the pharmacy afterwards. it is basically 100% safe. good luck!

Nabutes...
I've not had the surgery, but I am close to Princeton. I do know a number of friends who had the procedure done at the Princeton Eye Group and had nothing but very positive results. Good luck tomorrow and try not to worry! Hope to see your 330i buzzing in Town! |

Lasik has come a long way from when it was introduced, a lot less of that halo at night effect i hear.

I had it done 2 years ago. I had blurry vision for about a month until it healed enough, not a problem after that... (knock on wood) I went from 20/2600 to 15/20 , almost legally blind to better then perfect.

I had it done about 6 years ago. Best money I ever spent. They purposely were less aggressive correcting the left eye, so it's only 20/20. The other is 15/20, better than normal. One of the best parts is just being able to lie on the couch and watch the game, and doze off if I want to. No more worrying about contacts, or smashing glasses. I could see the clock in the middle of the night. Eyes no longer bloodshot from contacts.
The procedures are just about perfected. There are reasons some people can't get it, due to correction needed vs. size of pupil. The razor to cut off the top of the eye to get to the cornea sounds brutal, but it's a simple and easily healed procedure.

my wife had lasik eye surgery 6 years ago....$3500 for both eyes! 20/20 vision..........
If anyone tells you that it's not painful.....don't believe them! It's painful! But it's a quick procedure! And you'll be wearing some RAY sunglasses for a couple of days.

If they don't cut the flap, they burn right through the top layer. THAT takes a longer time to heal over, and can hurt awhile. How did your wife do it? edit: Almost forgot a good part. They gave me a Valium to relax. Yeah, baby.

I had it done 7 years ago when I was 24. Still 20/20. Procedure was ok. The valium helped with the nervousness. Was back to normal in a few days with the exception of having to take more care for a few weeks (not scratching eyes, light sensitivity, avoiding contact sports). No regrets and the bonus is that I'm sure the technology has improved since I had it done.

I believe drops, and the protective eye covers for at night, so you don't accidentally rub your eyes, was all that was required (for me). I did it on Saturday, and drove to work on Monday.
