Here's a few bands, not death metal, but pretty heavy. -Killswitch Engage -Throwdown -Pantera -Bleeding Through -It Dies Today -Most Precious Blood -Nora -Poison The Well -Shadow Falls Not a fan of all of those, but just listed a few. |

You may appreciate Rollins Band (Come in and Burn, The End of Silence).
"I see them move from their offices to their cars and on to their suburban homes. They stress out constantly, they lose sleep, they eat badly. And they behave badly. Their egos run wild; they become motivated by that which will eventually give them a massive stroke. They need the Iron Mind. Through the years, I have combined meditation, action, and the Iron into a single strength. I believe that when the body is strong, the mind thinks strong thoughts. Time spent away from the Iron makes my mind degenerate. I wallow in a thick depression. My body shuts down my mind. The Iron is the best antidepressant I have ever found. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength. Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it's impossible to turn back. The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds." -Henry Rollins |

A few more I just thought of:
-From Autumn To Ashes (Too Bad You're Beautiful & Fiction We Live; albums after are softer and not quite as well written) -Shai Hulud -Hopesfall (Satellite Years & No Wings to Speak Of, not as hard but A-Types is a good album as well; they're softer now) -A Static Lullaby I missed my chance to see Poison The Well live a few weeks ago. Still pissed off I didn't see them. |

Metal has to be an acquired taste, because I could never get into it.

I would recommend Metallica's "...And Justice For All" and "Master of Puppets" albums to work out.

wooo ive been waiting for a thread like this. i have a feeling EOE90 is gonna chime in as well. weve been following the new-ish metalcore / deathmetal genre for a few years. all the suggestions above are good, but here are some of my favorites:
The Faceless All Shall Perish (+1) Between The Buried and Me As Blood Runs Black Job For a Cowboy (as much as i hate them as people, ill admit their music is pretty good) |

So like I knew my soon to be brother in law was in a band, but I had no idea it was this heavy until last week... "Forever in Terror". Here's their myspace.
http://www.myspace.com/fitmetal I don't see him much, He'd never mentioned it to me though. Probably thinks I listen to Jeff Buckley or some shit when I want to go 'metal'. Lots of good stuff mentioned already, I'd also throw in Diecast to get some extra 'inspiration' to run that last half mile or get some extra reps in there. -BMW2006 |
