I know our company network was so slow yesterday that it had to be hacked. Top 100 Corporation.

I don't think the market was hacked, I am pretty confident that it has to do with internal safeguards that were flagged. With the way the stock market operates, I seriously can't imagine it straight up getting hacked and shut down. I am certainly not an expert, but I work within the market realm and just can't see it getting hacked like a crazy ex hacking a facebook, lol.

Like they're testing to see how many systems they can cripple at once.

i'm not saying it was hacked but i wouldn't say it cannot be. everything and anything can be hacked.

things are not looked at as "what happens if we get compromised" it's "what happens when we get compromised". look into IR and DR.

that's across all industries.

Definitely not saying it's absolutely impossible, I was more saying it's something else other than a hack. If the market got hacked it would be a LOT worse than a 3.5 hour timeout. Can we put the blame on Obama, just for fun?

DDOS can suck your bandwidth like no others. I had to deal with one where the zombie computers kept requesting NTP connections from my internal network switch.

Zombie "Time?"
Switch "I don't know what time it is!"

Not quite.

NorseCorp was founded in St. Louis, and their administrative operations are still based here. A good portion of the traps they use to find suspicious activity are routed through there, so on that map, it appears that a lot of traffic is attacking St. Louis.

Even my stocks actually stopped trading; my investment would've garnered me up to $87.5 yesterday. Frickin' Commie bastards.

DDOS attacks seems to be increasing this summer. I doubt they will confirm so publicly.
