Which smartphone works best with BMW Apps?

I'm planning to upgrade my old iPhone 5 to a new smartphone, thinking between iPhone 6 or Samsung S6 edge, just wanted to know before I decide, which brand is more "compatible" (in the present and short future) with BMW Apps or any other BMW software?

My S6 Edge is near useless in the car. It's one of the things that managed to infuriate me...in 4 days.

You can stream music just fine, but BMW Connected doesn't work at all. So your Spotify Built-In access is basically disabled.

iPhones now and the future. I mean if you believe the rumors, BMW is working on the self driving car for Apple!

My M4 and my i8 need workarounds to read text and email messages with my iPhone 6 plus (AT&T). I'm told the Android phones work seamlessly with the new iDrive or whatever the computer system is now called. The iPhones do not work seamlessly with the new BMW infotainment firmware.

According to the manual, iphones work best. I have an Samsung Galaxy S5 and it's limited on what I can do. For example, with an iphone I believe you can sync facebook to the car to get updates to the car display.

My iPhone won't sync with the BMW and allow the BMW to read text messages and emails. I couldn't do it and my BMW genius couldn't do it. The only way to get them is a workaround -- by using the Siri function to do so for you.

If you've got another way, then prove to me that I've got it wrong. Please give me a step by step. iPhone 6+, AT&T, MSN email.

And, being 70, I don't have much of a need for Facebook, Spotify, Flickr or
Pandora. And please tell me how to get AM radio on my i8.

False. My BB Passport works flawlessly with my iDrive. Phonebook, Messages, Calendar work perfectly. Only music app I have is DI Radio, and once you open it through the phone, you can control it through iDrive/steering wheel controls.

You're absolutely right. The issues I was having was related to the Bluetooth Permissions that were disabled by the system admins at work. They turned them on and now the BB works just like an Android. Just a quick question, I have not seen the Calendar function in iDrive (I assume it's under "Office"), where is it?

But latest iPhones. Older ones and I touch don't work too well. Not had much success with andriod S5 - or at least not as good as Apple.
