Traded my 335 M Sport for Infiniti Q50S !
Before I get killed let me explain. My lease was up and I looked at every car in the 50-55k range. I figured I can drive this car until our SUV lease is up and then give it to my wife and next summer I get into an M4.
After looking at all the options I opted for this car. It's really good looking, has great tech and awesome BOSE stereo, 19 in wheels w/dark gunmetal rimsand paddle shifters. It's the Sport version so it has a stiffer suspension. It's pearl white so it looks cool with the dark rims and tinted windows. I've only had it for 2 weeks and it's a great fun car to drive on sport mode. I'll even go as far as saying that it feels faster than my 335i on manual sport mode. It's a different ride altogether but it's quite agile and fun to drive. You can toss it around as much as any 3-4 series. Plus the interior of this car is a lot nicer than any 3-4 series and is full of technology. The Bimmers are more of a driver's car but this is a much better package and value for your money. Overall a pretty nice car and I got a great deal. I've had 6 Bimmers before so it's nice to drive something different once in a while.... |

I haven't driven it myself but I think it's the best looking of the Japanese 3-series competitors and Nissan make nice V6s so It seems like a very good alternative to the F30.

I haven't driven the Q series but owned a few G35/37s (sedans and coupes). For the money (and ridiculous lease deals) they are a great value. Even though it was short on power compared the my 335s, I loved my 2004 G35 Coupe 6MT. It looks more dated now but back then between the nice exterior lines, wheels, nobby 6 speed, and exhaust sound, it was a great car. The G37 was also a good car and the auto (AWD version so no 6 speed) was geared short enough where the torque deficit didn't seem to get noticed from my E90 335. But overall, it didn't inspire as much confidence in the curves as either my E90 or F30 BMWs but the overall value equation is high. I know the Qs got softer and no 6mt but never got a chance to drive one.
Looks like you plan this to be a temporary move and I assume you got a good deal on the Q. Not a bad in between choice in my opinion based on my experience with the Gs. |

Man...lots of haters in here lol. Congrats on the purchase, infiniti makes great cars but watch out for rockchips in the paint and make sure you take care of the leather seats. I had an infiniti g37x, great car and fast-ish on the highway.

Good for you. We had a Q in the family. Loved it. The Q50s is certainly a nice placeholder while you wait for your M4. Watch out. You may get to love the Q50s so much that you don't want to give it up. Yeah right |

OP, you were getting murdered on the F8x board. Glad the mods moved your thread.
You only have to drive the Q for a year until you lease the beast. I can't blame you there. As far as it feeling faster than your 335.....hmm Good looking car, nonetheless

Funny because I went from the G37S-6MT to my 2013 335i-6MT and now my F80 M3-6MT. It was a nice car but after 20k miles the car started to feel like it was coming apart. Handling became poorer, idle became rougher, interior began feeling cheap and the fuel economy took a fat dump. It had a great exhaust note with the Invidia exhaust I put on it but it just wasn't as nice as the original G35 w/ the VQ35s and their Calsonic exhausts.
Also, the vehicle value dropped like a ROCK because Infiniti was giving them out for free at one point to make way for the Q50S. Hopefully your car value doesn't tank in a year like mine did lol. |

Honest opinion-
I think the Q50s is a fantastic looking car outside... I would argue to dare say even better than the 335 M sport. The suspension is even setup decently and the wheels are really nice. Continuation of honest opinion - Everything else and I mean EVERYTHING ELSE about this car sucks. It looks horrible and dated on the inside, uses like a 10 year old engine w a dated tranny and the tech sucks compared to idrive.

Mine did and it was a common complaint, it wasn't that annoying though. I sold mine to my mom but I miss it. I had the G sedan though. I never really considered the Q50 since they seem hell bent on advertising driving nannies, glad to see the Sport model still retains it's sporty driving characteristics...even if they're using an ancient motor. Plus, with all due respect as it's just my opinion, I think the interior is dull and the dual screen set up they have is tacky. I've also read reports of hardware/software issues where the whole system is very slow. |

NA engine has poor low-end torque... I would take 328i over Q50 in terms of driving dynamics (I owned G37s coupe for 3 years, so know what I am talking about).

God Bose sucks so bad...but I will say they best sounding ones I've ever heard are usually in Nissans. As far as the Japanese competitors go, I would sacrifice the ~30 HP and go with the IS\RC over the Infiniti. I just think it's better overall car and the comparo's I've seen seem to think so, too. |
