I think I'm way behind the times but wtf is the deal with "stanced" cars? I see cars rolling on some ridiculous camber and slammed to the ground.
There's some sort of meet going on in Ocean City called h2oi where it's nothing but these cars. Jalopnik even wrote up a piece about it http://jalopnik.com/the-most-tickete...gun-1733771503 I dont get the appeal...however that IG account ocpdrollcall is comedic gold. Someone explain. Well to start those are stance cars, those are just cars some idoit ruined.
those are stance, where someone took some actual thought in how to set the car up and how much room they actually have under the fenders of the car.

![]() That said, I agree with you and your definition of "stance" is mine as well. OP, no one understands it either, so don't feel like you're being left out of anything. Ignorance is bliss when it comes to "stance". H20 is a huge gathering of VW\Audi owners, the largest in the country, and is basically just a douchebag jerk-off fest. Since "stance" is the "in" thing right now these "enthusiast" VW\Audi owners have taken to it like flies on shit. |

Nothing. Being a E famous circlejerking dbag. One of the reasons5I hate VW so much is the community, they consume this nonsense with such a passion. I despise it.

Back in the day, "car guys" used to do stuff to our cars to make them perform better, to go faster.
Anyone who intentionally did something that made it perform worse in order to look better while standing still was considered a shallow, superficial poser, the least respected form of life on the gearhead ladder. Now, that is something to aspire to ? ![]()

Cool is in the eye of the beholder.
It's definitely Good for the economy.....nothing like wrecking your car for so it looks cool for a month or two until the mean streets rip off your bumper and perhaps the exhaust too while scraping bottoms and dodging any hazard that are everywhere....I guess they love shit that breaks and the challenge of keeping a lowered car looking good....my guess this is why people love to mod cars too they get bored of the same ol same ol. I like mildly lowered cars but there is a point where it's just stupid to slam a car unless you track or have pristine roads to drive upon. My 5 cent. |

The cars with the ridiculous stretched tires and crazy camber must trash their tires and fenders. So if I owned a tire or body shop, I'd love them. I'd encourage them to run even lower and with more negative camber!

Theres a ton of these in the orlando area, I don't understand why you would mod a car to where you can't even enjoy driving it... take a turn at any speed it would probably rip the tire off

I see the occasional one here in the city. Of course a VW GTI of some generation but I just dont get it. I remember when I was into the Honda import scene wayyy back when I'd flip the hell out of my tires were wearing unevenly and go into panic mode. God forbid they have to go anywhere with speed bumps.
And what the fuck is with those 3 pink trumpet things?!? |

There have always been cars built for looks. Stance guys didn't invent the show car. It's just a different version of form over function. I remember seeing bagged mini trucks go up and down the street seeing who could throw up more sparks. The stance version of that seems to be trying to go into a parking lot with a slight incline and of course the U-turn.
