If I were to get a lease, I would probably go with a 2 year lease . I think what they are saying about the 335 coming is true. I think BMW will make it something of a different breed of car or make it more expensive rather than replace the 325/330 outright.
I bought mine so I don't think I am up for that anyhow. Mine is with me for the long haul. I like it.

It totally amazes me how many people are are basing decisions on a vehicle that.... at this point.... is merely a rumor... when they could be driving right now. Lets just "say" a 335 appears next fall... what happens when the V8 appears a year from now? Wait again? I mean, we're talking 50hp here. That's almost the same as going from a 325 to a 330: the 330 is a second faster... and I suppose the 335 will be a second faster than that. Do you know what that means? look at your clock and count a second. wow..... that's so much faster.... wow..... If you want something that's faster in a straight line, get the Lexus.
It's just like a computer folks... buy/lease what you can afford now because next week there's a replacement. The best deal on leasing is 3 years, not two. |

When I leased mine, the 2 year was actually cheaper per month than the 3 year. Really depends on the incentives and residuals BMW is currently using. Also, you have to factor in the point that if you are leasing at 2 year intervals rather than 3, you are going to have to pay intial fees more often, which again determines your out-of-pocket expense for the cars over time.

Check the current base lease rates here:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=126517 Seems that BMW is running a couple of nice 2 year deals right now, but it looks like it's only on the 325i's (really high residual of 74%). There are a number of lease calculators spreadsheets around, don't forget to include all of the upfront fees in the calcuations and you can figure out what's cheaper for you. In general a 3 year BMW lease is always the cheapest, but like I said, check the rates and do some homework on your own. Don't always trust the numbers that you get out of the dealership.

espo89, thank you so much for your offer! I am faxing an offer (at $750 over invoice, including fees) to my dealer first thing tomorrow (Monday) morning on a 330xi. I am sure this offer will be promptly declined, and we will have to negotiate. (This is a 330xi in Connecticut that is being ordered.)
As soon as we've settled on a price, I will post here and ask for your advice, which I will really appreciate! |

Here's what I don't get - if you love the 330 now, who cares about what is coming down the road? When the newer model comes out, the stuff in the older (330) doesn't stop functioning, and the car isn't less fun to drive.
I guess it's just a matter of model envy.

Well, I said two because if I was to lease it would only be to always be riding the latest model on the road. That would only be my reason to lease. I bought one.
