Belated Introduction!

Hello! Just thought I'd do the proper thing and say hi.

Coming from the world of Imprezas, I decided to take the plunge and get myself a e92. Initially I was looking for a 330 but it had to be dark grey with black leather, auto/paddle shift and a petrol. So once I took a 325 for a spin, I was sold.

Plenty of power for me. Even after coming from an Impreza WRX.
I finally have a comfortable car that looks absolutely stunning.

The only issue with the car is that every now and then, it idles roughly for a few seconds when started from cold. I have read that it could just be that that the vanos solenoids needs a good clean out?

If you have a 3 litre N53 325i and at some stage want more power you can convert it easily to a 330i.

Not exactly, they stopped using the N25B25 sometime in late 2007 I believe.

Welcome. Worth finding a good indy who can read any fault codes for you. Your poor cold stating could be any number of things. Reading the codes avoids wasting money on guessing! Think about a Performance Exhaust - really brings out the sound of that straight six...

Any recommendations? Coming from the world of imprezas, I don't want it too loud!

The Performance Exhaust (note the capital letters) is an OEM product from the BMW Performance range for your car. It carries a BMW plate, so won't invalidate any warranty and sounds just right (IMO), subdued at cruise (no drone) but a lovely roar at WOT.

The pic shows a US system, the European Performance exhaust consists of the back box only (plus clamp).
