E93 top reliability

I have an E93 since birth and not had any top problems. It has stuck a couple times and I had do recycle the opening procedure due to the rubber sticking to the metal of the windshield frame but that's my fault for not conditioning the rubber often enough. But I hear some people gripe about it. Have you had any problems with yours?

Some creaking over bumps when windows were down but went away after some lubrication on a few moving parts.

I have only had one issue, and not with the top itself. One of my rear side window actuators went out while I was putting the top down. The window was stuck in the up position. The convertible top went down fine however when I tried closing the top it wouldn't close all the way. Apparently all of the windows have to come down in order for the top to properly close properly.

Had my 2010 E93 328i since new... Zero problems.

I also put treatment on the seals 3-4 times yearly.

Garage List
My 2007 335i E93 had HORRIBLE roof rattle around 84k miles. My friend who is an SA suggested that it would be a $3-$5k fix, and that these tops are not built to last into higher mileage. I currently am leasing a 335is vert, and I wish I would have just ordered the E92 so I could buy the thing at lease end. Your mileage may vary.

Mine has 223,000. No problems. I respectfully disagree. I use my top often, almost daily.

Haha, oh everything! Car-related and in general. Went to a little car meet today in your country and actually had to request that the location be a little closer to me because I don't trust my car to go very far without breaking down

In just these past few months alone: oil pan gasket leak, cracked wheel, disappearing front lip, dead alternator, dead battery, and flat tire. There may be more that I have forgotten...

Goes in waves. And now those are things you don't have to worry about. 😉
