Center Dash Rattle(Not Speaker)
Hey e90 community this is my first post on the forums as i recently bought a CPO 08 335xi. So far its been great coming from an 01 330 coupe. Anyways. The issue i am having is some kind of rattle coming from the center dash only at idle/at a stop. Ive read many threads on rattles but none demonstrated the symptoms similiar to mine so i figured id post to get some help. These are the steps i took to troubleshoot the rattling
Initially i thought it was the speaker so i removed the mount to no avail. Then i found that the rattle gets increased by pressing the A/C snowflake button When the A/C & Fan is off you can hear a slight rattle but dies down and goes away after a few seconds. Turning the A/C on brings the sound back. I pinpointed the noise and is coming from the passenger side defroster vent thats just behind the center dash speaker. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing the rattle? I know the blower motor is behind the glovebox on the passenger side could that be where the rattle is coming from ? It seems like an A/C issue to me . Ive only added DCI and an OCC both from BMS |

E9x series is pretty notorious for having blower motors go bad (or at least needing some lubrication). Mine needs replaced/repaired too actually. There's some DIY's on this site for how to do it if you search. Seems pretty straightforward, I just haven't bothered doing it yet.
