Options for replacing control arms?
I believe it's time for control arms on my 09 335i with 114k miles. I don't get the bad clunking I always got on my e46s but there's been some wheel vibration when braking that I thought was rotors but it's still present after replacing them. If I tap the brakes several times I can feel a little thud each time, as well as some unpleasant front tire wear. Initially I was looking at the TRW m3 control arms but I may pass on these for now unless they're a must-have since I have a few other things I'm putting money into right now. Do the upper and lower typically wear at the same rate? Do I need all 4 pieces? Anyone have experience with FPC euro arms? They're $171 shipped for all four, pretty tempting.

I'd go with Mayle HD Tension Strut Front Uppers only. They are heavy duty and come with a solid bushes similar to TRWs. I rebuilt my suspension at 130k miles. The lower arms were still good.

Thanks for the advice! Good to know it may just be the upper arms that need replaced.

Well I finally changed them at 120k. Uppers were torn to bits with almost nothing left and they were already the second set, they were Meyle HD. Lower arms appeared original and were in good shape but I replaced them all with new m3 arms.
