any audison bit1 / dmi users here?

ive put the above combo in my car but seem to have a couple of issues, mainly what appears to be low output volume and also poping noises. i get a turn on and off pop and also pops when cycling through the digital inputs. ive had to turn the gains up far more than i considered would be required and but still seem to have low output i the park sensors when activated are barley audible. they also dont mute the sound when activated though this maybe just normal operation. any tips or suggestions?

Hey
I installed the audison bit1 and dmi in my car.
If younare having output issues id suggest recalibrating the bit one. Did you set the input to 'low' and turn the volume of the head unit up to max minus 3 clicks when calibrating?

Also the parking distance gongs dont mute the music so this is normal.

Let me know how you get on

Thanks Shaun (Shaun isn't it?) I will have another crack at setting the inputs but it's all gone in as one, I had the logic 7 setup so it was never wired up to high or low inputs. In the end I had to connect my sonos to the rca inputs to generate a signal. The pops are what is most annoying me though. It takes a while to do it when started up and seems to be the actual unit when it gets or loses a digital signal more than the classic turn on/off pop. How loud would you say your park sensor warnings are?

Yeah Shaun

But what did you tell the bit1 with regard to input signal at set up....low level or high level?

Mine does pop on switching off...but it is so quiet its almost non existent and you only really hear it from the sub...if you hear it at all. Other than that there is no popping on mine.

My pdc are just about as loud as they were originally if not may be slightly louder. I can hear it over the music if that it what you are asking.

Happy for you to take a listen to mine or even pop over and see if there is anything I can help you with. I'm no pro as mine is the first and only audio system I installed so cant make you any promises.

Low level rca, I ended up ripping track one of the disc to media player as flac then streaming it though my sonos output at about 90% via rca into the bit one to set the levels. This worked but the levels appear very low still, my pdc is barely audible unless I turn the gains up quite high. Popping is driving me mad. I've just tried it and it pops selecting digital sources even if they are not connected

Yep that was me, from what i saw your car is looking good

no worries as and when, need to try and do a bit more faultfinding but it does look like its the bit one itself, it pops even with the digital leads disconnected. a bit of a search has shown a few people with similar issues. do you run your front speakers active or passive mate?

Ok I wondered if perhaps you were passive the crossovers could have been absorbing some of the noise as such, guess that's not the case though.

I have the DMI and Bit One set up too but don't experience any popping. To avoid that, I always turn off the bit one via DRC rather than letting it shut down itself. I'm also fully active front.

It does seem to be pointing towards an issue with the bit one, i may have to take it out and bench test it incase its some kind of wiring issue. its not a turn on or off pop though, its only when either cycling through the digital inputs ( doesnt do it when you goto master input ) or it loses or gains digital input. for instance if you set it to master then stop or start it no noise, but if you start the car with it left on optical for input for instance it will pop just as it starts playing music. i use a airport express on the second digital input and if i select the input then start airplay it will pop, if i start airplay first then select the input it is normally fine. i even purchased the audison sfc to try and stop this but no difference. did both of you update the dmi first as suggested? i noticed it shows no serial number on the software page now it has updated.

Mine pops too when cycling through the various master selections but I just ensure my volume is always low ish. TBH I never need to cycle through those options so it never bothers me in the slightest.

Yeah updated DMI so I have retained all relevant gongs / PDC etc etc. Bear in Mind Studio In Car did all my tuning and installation, though I'm aware of the set up and how it works.
