E90 Pre-LCI tail light options?
Hi folks,
Just wondering what the options are for upgrading pre-lci E90 tails? Ideally I'd like the OEM LCI lights but is there a cheaper alternative way of upgrading the lights but staying with an OEM+ type look? Really dislike the clear sections of the rear lights and would like to get rid of them. A quick search didn't return much on this topic.. Cheers in advance. |

+1 Re Darklines. They are a darker red & suit the lines of the car much better in my opinion.

You could try the cheap options first: red tint or red clear coat. I.e. mine with red tint (will be painting them in the spring, as the tint color is a bit too light (esp. at an angle) and, since it is vinyl, does not look the same as plastic - not reflective, attracts more dust, etc.):

Take out the tail lights, wipe off with alcohol, wrap, trim edges, cut the hole for reverse light. Done

Are they just a straight swap for the originals or does anything need coding etc? |

The all red ones on eBay look pretty good it I'm definitely a fan of darklines. I've got some darklines on my E91 and as mentioned they really suit the lines of the car and totally transform the rear of the car.

Simple swap. No coding and a reasonable fit. I'm very fussy and I'm very happy after a bit of fiddling to get them on. Easy really, just make sure the foam is on the right places.
I'll get some more pics tomorrow. |

I went down the pre-cut red vinyl (from a US eBay seller) route. Colour match is spot on and shape/fitment is perfect.
