Presenting the BMW i Vision Future Interaction Concept and other technologies at CES
BIMMERPOST NEWS Introducing BMW at CES 2016, and presenting the BMW i Vision Future Interaction CES 2016 has kicked off and here's what BMW is showcasing at the annual consumer electronics show, including the debut of the BMW i Vision Future Interaction, a concept car which provides an outlook on the networked cockpit and user interface of the future, as well as previewing the upcoming BMW i8 Spyder model. BMW i Vision Future Interaction • Concept Car provides an outlook on the networked cockpit and the user interface of the future. BMW i8 Mirrorless • System with three cameras replaces the rearview mirror, covers larger viewing angles and eliminates dangerous “blind spots”. Internet of Things • Stands for even more comprehensive networking which facilitates new services for more efficiency and comfort. BMW Connected • Prototype of a personalised digital assistant for individual mobility. The focus is on the needs and requirements for mobility of the future. Future Mobility Solutions • Light & Charge – simultaneously innovative street lighting with LED technology and charging station for charging the high-voltage batteries of electric vehicles. New control concepts from BMW • BMW gesture control in the new BMW 7 Series for controlling information, entertainment and communication functions. BMW ConnectedRide • Motorcycle laser light in the BMW K1600 GTL concept vehicle with a range of 600 metres for main beam. • Head-up Display helmet projects necessary or requested traffic and vehicle information directly into the visual field of the driver The above presents a summary of the technologies discussed. NoT impressed steering wheels looks awkward and big
Taught BMW is a leader not follower whats up with shifter copy from Mercedes Benz How often do you have to change battery with all this technology every three months or they have this fixed |

I'm sure that's just something they decided to do with the concept to make it easier to see the tech inside. Certainly the production version will have doors - hopefully the butterfly doors that the previous i8 Spyder concept and production coupe have.

The mirrorless concept is pretty cool. However, your trying to tell me, if I park under a tree, and a bird shits on the back windshield, at just the right spot(s)....I won't b able to see behind me???

Can't wait to see the camera side mirrors to be a standard feature in many cars, not only BMW, in the near future. This idea has been around for many years now.

The i8 Spider is by far the sexiest convertible in existence right now. If it makes production. There is nothing out there that is as beautiful.
