jb4store (and buying jb4 in Cali)
Has anyone bought something from them? Just want to make sure they're legit.
Any other options to buy a new jb4 in CA? |

You also risk getting a damaged board that might damage your ECU as well Of course most used JB4 being sold are in perfect condition, but i still would not take that kind of risk to save $100

The JB4 warranty is vague at best, I don't know of anyone who has ever attempted to make a claim on one. Terry and the n54 forum of his will support you on your questions even if you buy it new or used. All issues with the JB4 can almost always be traced back to user error just saying. |

But you always have a risk of getting damaged one that can fry your ECU( unless you are getting it from a trusted friend then thats a different story) On my personal car, i would not do it to save $100

Would you load a backend flash on your car? You're basically taking the same level of risk. On top of that... most people pay good money for those updates (not even a cost savings). Usually the cost savings on the used market are about 50% which I see your point... not for $100 savings... but for greater than $100, might be worth a look see. plus now a days, the JB4 is more of stackable solution for tuning and people have multiple tunes going on at the same time. I bought my jb4 new and the day I sell my car I see no point to part it out... just sell it with all the mods + stock parts as it is to the lucky kid who gets it. |

We offer all BMS products to Cali.
For the record JB4store.com is not under the same ownership as BurgerTuning.com It is true the warranty does not transfer over with second hand purchases. If you make a claim for a defective unit that needs replacement they will not honor it. |

Not sure if you have read this on the BMS site: http://www.burgertuning.com/terms.html "5. Seller warrants that JB Performance Tuner Products will be free from manufacturing defects for three hundred and sixty five (365) calendar days after Delivery. Purchaser's exclusive remedy for any breach of the forgoing warranty is, at Seller's sole discretion, either: (i) replacement of the non-conforming Product with a conforming Product or (ii) a refund of the amount paid by Purchaser for such non-conforming Product. Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. No warranty is provided on intake kits or any other products." So a fried ECU would only net you either a new BMS jb4 or your money back for the jb4. |

I don't recall anyone frying their ecu with a new unit that was installed properly. By no accident, a warranty would not cover the vehicle unless explicitly stated. The warranty covers the unit itself which is par for the course with almost any warranty in this industry. Just like a clutch or turbo, the clutch or turbo has a manufacturers warranty, they don't cover the labor or anything else that may fail or become ruined for their product failing. If ECU frying is still a concern, consider a COBB AP Flash. |
