Advice for selling my E90

Hello all,
So sorry if this topic has already been covered. Because of the needs of my growing family I'll be selling my TS '07 335i (63K miles) in the next week or two. I'm sad to see the car go but was looking for some selling advice.

It's got an eibach prokit and some spacers on it. As well as a spoiler lip (m3 style) and some bumper splitters. Should I take it back to stock to sell? It looks so nice as is so that feels like a waste of $.

Anyone had luck selling here? Any advice for being safe when selling to private parties? I'm in LA and meeting people for test drives seems a bit iffy.

Do carmax or used car dealers kill you on the price?

Thanks in advance!

take it back to stock

despite what people think, mods lessen the value of cars because mods are personal taste. just because you like them doesn't mean others will

when i sold my mustang i sold it for book value and got an extra $2500 for selling my mods separately

and private sale is best way to go

I'm also in LA and have sold a few cars using autotrader.com. Never had a problem and always sold for more than the dealers are willing to pay. Just have common sense and always meet at public places. I also insist on completing the transaction inside a bank to make sure the cashiers check is verified and deposited.

Don't sell to a dealer.

They're in biz to make money are won't give you anywhere near what your car is worth. When I bought my wife's X3, the dealer offered $5,000 for her 325xi that was in beautiful condition. I sold it privately for $8,500 and called the salesman afterward to tell him so. Kind of enjoyed rubbing it in his face.

I've been very luck with Craigslist, although I understand that you mike to a bit leery in L.A.. Try it and insist on a contact phone number if anyone is interested, then get a conversation going to get to know them a little. I do that and haven't had any problems. I always pack heat anyway (legally of course), so I'm generally not afraid of anyone.
