Any PAS experts in the house??

Our lasses 06 BMW 320i, e90, after making a full lock turn the other day, power steering stopped working, I looked at it for her next day n no fluid in reservoir, so I put some in, started to bleed it, and it dripped out as fast as I was putting it in. I havnt looked at it yet but im hoping its just a pipe, just wondering, will she have killed the pump driving it home with no fluid?? Also anyone know of any common faults on these models with ps??
