Bought another 335i
Well....after a 4 year hiatus...I'm back.
Bought a 2007 E92 335i 84K miles Black Sapphire Premium/cold weather/sports and M? Dakota Just had turbos replaced, control arms, steering rack, some coil packs and some other stuff. Seems to be in really good shape. It's dropped REALLY low (which I love even though I'd never have the balls to drop it that low myself, lol). Looks like prob H&R race. Either way, it rides really well so I guess it was done "Right." The guy selling it doesn't really know much at all about mods or this car at all. He's the 5th owner and he's only had it for a few months. It's been in 2 accidents...1 minor and the other a rear end. And it's been stolen, lol. I know, I know...I'm crazy but I still think I'm getting a good deal. This will be a 3rd car for me so I'm barely going to drive it. Mods that I know of so far... AFE Intake Color matched markers (thank God). M3 side skirts JB4 He says it's catless so I'll see if it has DP's. Don't why it would be catless otherwise. Looks and sounds like it has factory exhaust. So here's my question....I'm very familiar with 08 and up...but he thinks it's an M sport. It def does not have the M rear bumper with the diffuser. Doesn't have the M side skirts that I'm familiar with. The front bumper has what looks like a factory lip but the rest of the bumper looks like my old non-M bumper. It has the M shifter and knob. No black headliner. So I'm wondering....was there even an M package for '07? And if so...maybe this was? Doesn't have the wheels either.

Definitely no m sport package here in the US back in 2007. The e92's received m sport package late 2010 quickly followed by the LCI facelift in 2011. By what you have written it seems the owner of the car didn't know much about it, thus why he is mistakenly advertising m sport.

I dont think they offer msport pkg in 07, you might have m sport suspension like I do, which kind of consider as the "msport pkg" in 2007.
Easiest way to tell is the headliner, if your headliner is black, you have m sport. Otherwise, Vin check. |

Thanks for the site. I'm stupid...I had already found a site and put in the vin and saw the options. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't losing my mind.
After posting this...my old man memory is coming back a little...just needed you to jar it for me. Now I remember no M pkg until '11. I put the M sport bumpers on mine so that messed me up a little. I'll get pics soon...it's freezing outside. And I'm fully aware of the issues it could have and how crazy I am for buying it with the history. But like I said...it was a great deal and I have one of my fav cars of all time again ....the E92. I won't be driving it too much.

See if it has the M wheel, shiftknob, handbrake, but I don't think there was a M package in 07. Post pics! wanna see the new car

On our 2007 335i sport with 80K miles I have changed out the valve cover gaskets and oil pan because both were leaking. Did a walnut blast (it was pretty gummed up) and changed out the oil filter housing gaskets while I had the manifold off. The previous owner had recently had the water pump replaced. With all of that out of the way the car should be good to go.
So yes there are more "maintenance" type items as the car gets older. However, none of what I replaced was really that bad. If you're mechanically inclined you'll be fine. If not then better dig deep in your wallet. |

I have heard horror stories on all years of N54 and N55 cars and my 2007 is still plugging away relatively trouble free at 93k miles. One ignition coil, one HPFP and an oil filter gasket. That's all of the unplanned for failures. Waterpump, injectors and turbos haven't caused one problem for me. I also haven't been stranded once or have had to call a tow truck. |

At a certain point the value must have hit rock bottom, you got a great deal I'm sure, but be prepared to sink a fair amount of the savings in as maintenance, This would be a great buy if you do your own wrenching and you have another vehicle in case this one decides to throw a fit! Now single turbo it and start breaking stuff! Enjoy!

Life is like GTA5. Just spawn another car if anything happens to the one you're driving. That's kinda how I approach my trifecta ABS issue and the DSC hydro pump.
