New BMW Search?
looking at this 335..
http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/forsale...ting=126337880 I currently drive a 2011 328i xDrive with the muffler delete, VMR V710, new drilled rotors and pads.. i'm thinking even with the year older 335 this would be a good upgrade. I think that with my car being at 50,000 i could probably sell it independently for the same asking price of the 335. any thing i need to know and anybody think this is a bad idea? |

I think in terms of driving experience it would be a huge upgrade. Two things come to mind on this specific vehicle switch though:
1. 2010 year model means you're getting a pre-LCI N54. No LED tail's and yellow halo's. I think aesthetically-speaking this is important. Of course, you could just buy the parts and replace them. For visual comparison: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=341673 2. That car doesn't have the sports package.

That car looks like a pretty decent deal. It's weird that the car comes with the sport steering wheel but not the seats. Since the car doesn't come with the sport suspension, you'll probably want to think about the costs of a new suspension.

Personally, I would try to stay away from these no name, no credit required type dealerships. You'll probably save a few bucks buying from them, but if you do, I'd spend the money to really make sure the car is looked at closely.
Also, I don't think you'll find a good condition lci 335, with sport package and around 50k miles for under $20k. |

Sport seats, sports suspension, better steering wheel, 17" staggered tires. Basically, to get what BMW calls The Ultimate Driving Machine you need the sport package. A dead giveaway when your looking is the thicker steering wheel with a round airbag as apposed to a more triangular looking airbag. Next look at the seats. Sports seats have large side bolsters and a retractable thigh rest. Once you know what it looks like it's easy to spot non sport seats from sport seats. If I'm looking at cars online and don't see sport seats I move on.
The steering wheel can be swapped and is not always a reliable indicator of the sports package but 95% of the time it is. The sport seats are going to be an almost 100% indicator. The best way to know for sure is to plug in the last 7 of the VIN at bmwvin.com and look at the options. |

That 335i looks like the stripped down, base model. Hang on to the 328 and save up so that you can find a better-equipped 335i with low miles. Btw, it will be a rather significant upgrade.
