Wife's car has been dripping oil on the driveway for a few months. I made sure to keep checking it. Finally had a friend take a look. He replaced valve cover gasket and found the valve cover to have a crack. He also found a stud to be broken. Got the stud removed and replaced and tried to JB weld the valve cover. My wife is now telling me she smells oil burning. Looks as if the crack is dripping oil onto the exhaust manifold and vaporizing the oil which then is being pulled into the cabin filter and into the car. Turn off the fresh air and it's not bad but limited.

Looking for a good mechanic near Poughkeepsie NY to replace valve cover. The car also throwing code for eccentric shaft sensor which works out since the valve cover is coming off.

For the time being trying to come up with an idea to block any engine fumes from being sucked into air ducts for the wife and little guy. Any ideas greatly appreciated

Thanks

Just replace the valve cover with a new unit. They all seem to crack sooner or later. Maybe use some Loctite #518 since it can seal up to 4mm gaps - and it remains pliable over time. Also the pvc is built into the VC so its probably needed anyways.
