Pre lci- stock front bumper lower center grille insert/mesh...options?

So I somewhat recently installed my VRSF 7" intercooler... I like being able to see the intercooler in the front. I would like to keep some sort of mesh there to protect it a little from any debris that could damage the fins.

I don't really like hte silver finishing rod across the middle of the grille but when removed it still looks unfinished.

I was wondering if anyone has seen or knows of any good options for a mesh grille that doesn't have the track for the finishing rod to snap into that would look clean?

Have you considered buying the black version of the finishing trim? I agree that simply removing it looks kind of ghetto with exposed holes showing.

I replaced my silver trim with the black versions for about $30 from Bavauto. I also used WipeNew on the mesh so that it was deep black again and I was satisfied.

This is what I did. That silver piece pops off and on very easily.

I thought about painting it black, wrapping it in black vinyl (I might have enough left over from doing my window trim) or plasti dipping which all I think would look good. I kinda like the two silver finishing rods on the sides to accent things a little on an all black car. I was trying to think of a better way to clean up the center portion. May best though to just do them all black though and be done with it.
