N55 JB4 map 0 when dropping car off for service?

Have to bring my car in for standard oil change service tmro. Should I put my JB4 on map 0?

If so, how do I assure its on map 0? Not a big fan of switching maps on the new version of JB4. Found it much easier on my N55 335 where it showed you what map you were in on the speedo and tach rather than on the 435 where it just blinks.

I don't have the connector to hook up to a laptop..

Well I change mine to 0 just because if they test drive it I just don't want them rodding my car around on that much power.

For me I just change it on the from the steering wheel, and just move it to 0 on the rpm.

Press and hold volume down on your steering wheel for about 5 seconds. You will notice the shift knob flash, you're now on Map 0. To change maps just press volume up to go from 0-1-2 and so on.

Be sure to drive the car for a short in map 0 before taking it to the dealer so as JB4 is no longer interrogating the can-bus. If not then the canbus monitoring by JB4 may block/impede/corrupt techs attempts to read and write via obd2 port.

Trust me I know as I drove my car to the dealer for service, left it in map 4 and the dealer couldn't install any updates etc.

Once I had talk the tech through how to set jb4 to map zero then he took for 15-20min drive in map 0 - it was fine.....

You should upgrade to the OBD version. Much better controls. All you need is the new 35.00 OBD harness.

to make your life easier, upgrade to the OBD version or get the bluetooth connect kit

When taking the car to the dealership, i recommend removing the JB4

How are the controls different? I just hate not knowing what map I'm in for sure.

Every time u access it via the down volume button, it always starts on map 0 now? Or does it remember the map you were last on?

The map settings don't change when the ignition is switched off/on.

Hold volume minus button on SW for ant 5s switches Jb4 off / map 0 then pressing volume plus button a number of times gets your preferred map ie 5 presses = map 5. Depending on what FW you are running the shift light will flash 5 times and or the info display in MFD will scrolled on 5 times ie like pushing BC button 5 times.

The OBD firmware uses the tach to indicate map, like on the N54.
