Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400

Quite the list of upgrades for a refresh. The 3.0 TT V6 sounds promising. Sounds like the tires are really holding the car back. |

As a former G owner I was pretty depressed when the Q line came out with no power bump. Infiniti still doesn't seem to have a read on its customer base. While I still think Infiniti makes a great product and delivers one of the most amazing dealership experiences I've ever had ($60 for an oil change, includes a car wash full sys check AND a loaner for no extra cost, they don't even make you fill up the gas) I think they need to figure out their identity and more time in R&D so they don't deliver a "luxury sedan" that can't keep its back end in line. It's not an AMG.

It's a S4 and C43 competitor with similar pricing and about 10% more power on paper. It's definitely a nice entry into the market, but not necessarily a game changer. I have a feeling it will not be faster than either of the two also-newly-introduced German entries.

Almost 3900 pounds, auto only, 400 estimated crank (not exactly "Hyundai Horsepower", but Infiniti doesn't round down as hard as BMW does). Just not seeing how this car will be a game changer.

Did you two forget the current lame 3 series besides the Audi and AMG.
Infiniti's got a fresh new engine v6tt with 400hp, and they got another one at 300hp v6tt. Two different motors for both powers. They're lighter than any previous gen Infiniti cars. I don't know where you're getting 3900lbs. Last edited by g2BMW; 03-01-2016 at 09:01 PM.. |

No manual transmission. Only one of the reasons that car sucks. The other would be at steering! If you thought BMW was bad wait to drive one of those

Didn't mention the 3 Series because its irrelevant. If the 3 Series were the measuring stick then the S4 and C43 have already changed that game. The Infiniti offers marginal increase in power over those two, nothing else new, and may or may not offer any better overall performance than they do. Again, neat little car. Kudos to Infiniti for the effort. Nothing revolutionary here though. |

Btw, the weight came from this thing called the spec sheet. As echo'ed, neat little car but the car won't change anything. Infiniti has a long way to go if it hopes to revolutionize anything. |

Hey my friend, check that spec sheet again, the link 'View all specs' is under the table to the VQ series Q50.

^^^ You did remind me of one feature the Q60 RS offers that the other two don't: RWD. That's nice but I suspect that not opting for AWD would only make the car less likely to show a performance improvement from that extra ~40hp.

Yeah, true. I forgot the C43 AMG got the 4matic. Damn shame TBH. I loved the old -63s for the rear drive paired to an atomic bomb under the hood.

They still sell the C63 with RWD and more torque and hp than the rear wheels can handle. The C43 is a mid range car to compete with the 340i and S4.
