*official* Workout/running/biking Playlist Thread
To be honest, I am not sure how something becomes the official one, but apparently some asterisks and all-caps are pretty much all one needs. Anyway, post up your playlists that you use for inspiration. I searched and the only thing I was was in the Workout sub-forum and was from 2008. Let's see what y'all are listening to in order to get your workout on.
Presently, I am on an all Eminem diet for my primary running playlist.

Roller skating.
My playlist is stuck with the same names, whether its for driving of for skating. Metal, hc and loud. I've never been a friend of Finnish metal but lately Mokoma is killing my headset. The band is full of humor and excellent lyrics (I admit they will only open up yo our three Finnish readers). Anything with danzig. The man has a way to make me push an extra mile. AC/dc. I grew up with them. Rammstein always delivers. I love how seriously people take them. When ever I go street racing, I play pussy by them.

Only pussies need music to work out. At some point you have to come to terms with the fact that you're lazy ass needs to motivate yourself. No stretching or water either.... get thirsty, drink your tears!
j/k, just don't have a specific playlist.

Britney Spears. The song that pumps me up the most is Gimme More.

I actually like a lot of Dubstep and Electronic House to intersperse with my Rap playlists.

OK... holy shit... I actually kinda love that. Has a definite Metallica "Master of Puppets" era vibe to it. I will have to look up some translated lyrics to make sure I am not getting subliminal messages telegraphed to me in Finnish - like, I love reindeer, Lapps forever, fuck Sweden, play hockey, why is it so miutherfucking cold... you know... stuff like that.
Seriously though, I actually really like the sound... know I wish I spoke Finnish.

When I'm running, I need something to put me on a pace and keep it, almost a metronome. Tunes that often come to mind are "Old McDonald" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb"

Interesting. I have noticed in my run statistics that may pace often fluctuates with the music. If I wee competitive I would probably have to do that. I ran a half-marathon (no, I pussed out and wouldn't train for the whole thing) in Detroit and built an entire Detroit playlist - Eminem, Kid Rock, Alice Cooper, White Stripes. Matching up BPMs is tough.

I wish there was a band simply called "The Ball Sack".
You would be able to say cool things like "Hey! Did you get tickets to see The Ball Sack?!"

Omc I am retranslating to a song made by a band that apparently I've met.
I was doing this and and one of my kids shared a childhood memory. "Mom, that's the man I asked if he is the santa at the grocery store. You said to the man sorry for bothering you but can we take a pic of you and the kid. The man let us take it and asked if he should be worried about the age group that's his fans. You told him no, you're going to show the pic to me when I'm old as a proof you were a decent parent. You never got the joke after dad laughed his ass off when he saw the shot". In my defence, I found the band this spring. Apparently everyone else has been listening to them for ten years. So the song. In finland (as is everywhere) the depression of young men is an issue. This song is about a man who you can think is so depressed he doesn't even care how it all ends, or as I see it, as him being down but still seeing positive things about his meaning to the world. Anyway, mokoma wrote a song, an upbeat song about the lows of life. As is with us finns, it's loud and dark, but the humor pushes through. I find it hilarious and to a point. So this is a song about young men and depression. It has a vibe none of these has, this actually tells them to fucking move on. Kasvot painettu maata vasten Painettu multaan varta vasten Aion itsestäni kunnolla ottaa selon Punnita vaihdot ja ehdot ja elon Olen päättänyt viimeinkin kuolla Samapa teenkö sen täällä vai tuolla Tässä on sentään tuoretta multaa Ja madoille multa on kalliimpi kultaa Facing down, facing the dirt. On purpose, really. I'm going to figure myself out for once, See the options, and the clauses of being. I have decided to die, Here, there, doesn't matter to me Here the dirt is fresh and for at least to worms, that’s worth More than gold. Pitkään olen ollut jo vainaa Miksipä nähdä siis liiemmin vaivaa Arkkua tehdä, kuoppaa kaivaa Hospotit, aamenet, helvetit, taivaat Olen vakaasti päättänyt kuolla Tehdä sen tässä, tässä, en tuolla Tuokaa päälleni ruumiinkivi Yhdellä jälleen harvenee rivit I've been dead for long. Why would I bother with the hassle? A gasket, a hole, (I can't translate this, the church protocols and talks of heaven and hell, funeral) It is my decision to die. Here, there, just not a second later. Just bring a headstone upon me. You yet again lose an other. (a reference to the suicide rates of young men in Finland). Joskus se antaa, joskus se ottaa Elämä osaa ottaa Ihmisen osana on osaa ottaa Ihminen osaa ottaa It gives, it takes, it really takes at times. Life has it's way to take. The part of being a human is to take it, A human knows how to take it. (this is a reference to school shooters, and them being after a revenge to me, but many would say the point is that we should see what we do to others) Minä olen Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein I am, Dead, deader, the deadest (as is, dead (corpse) deader depressed, deadest too depressed even to do a suicide). Siinä hän makaa, niin kuin petaa Työllä ja tuskalla minutkin tapetaan Tuttu tarina kaikille meistä Siitä on turha vääntää peistä Ei tarvitse hikoilla enää Potkia teloja, tehdä tenää On kärsivän hyvä olla Kera matojen kuoleman vainiolla There he lies, like he made it for himself. It took effort to kick him down this bad. We all know this story, No need to discuss it again. No need to blame anyone. The sufferer is happy now. With the worms, in the Valhalla. Joskus se antaa, joskus se ottaa Elämä osaa ottaa It gives, it takes. Life knows how to take. Minä olen Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Joskus se antaa, joskus se ottaa Elämä osaa ottaa Ihmisen osana on osaa ottaa Ihminen osaa ottaa Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein Kuollein
