2007 BMW 328i N52 Air Intake Baffle

Hey guys,

I've been seeing a lot of people on forums talk about removing the baffle in your intake to increase airflow and even add a little sound to your car. This morning I was doing the charcoal delete mod and figured I might as well take out the baffle while I have it all apart, however from what I could tell there was no baffle in my OEM airbox/air intake hose? Has anyone else ever encountered this? My car is a 2007 328i Coupe (N52).

It's either that or I am completely blind and missed it... But by the sounds of the forum it's pretty tough to miss! So any help or information would be greatly appreciated. My K&N drop in filter will be showing up in a few days, so I'll have it opened up again to be able to have another look!

Maybe you are thinking of the silencer that is attached to the underside of the intake boot that runs from the air box to the throttle body?

Great, I knew I couldn't have been that blind! There are only so many things you can look for in a simple air box! Haha I figured I couldn't be missing something so obvious!

Thanks boro92!

Yes I've heard of doing that as well! But apparently some other models actually do have an intake baffle that you can remove, but like Boro92 said, the N52 airbox does not have it!

But in regards to the silicone replacement hose, I would love to get my hands on one of those! Just need to find someone south of the border that is willing to ship it up here!

It's just a 90 degree elbow. Many places sell them. You just need to make sure it's the correct length.

I'm in Canada too, so I ended up getting a silicone tube from Vibrant Performance

Any local shops (PartSource, CT, etc.) that would have this hose so I don't have to order it online? Anyone find a cheaper part than the $60+ USD that appears on the vibrant site?
