Window Tint - Opinions Needed

Hello,

I'm getting my windows tinted next week, and am not sure what percentage to get, so I thought I would ask the forum!

I drive a white BMW F30 with black interior.

The legal limits where I live are 50% in the font, and 35% in the back.

I'm debating between:
a) 35/35
b) 35/50
c) 50/50

I personally think 35/35 would look the best, because it's both the darkest and even across windows. However, it's illegal to have 35 in the front and have heard that cops here are starting to target illegal tint more than they have in the past.

Regarding 35/50 vs 50/50, what do you guys think? Is it worth it to go for the lighter tint to get the even distribution among the windows?

Thanks!

35 all the way around is going to look the best. If you want to stay legal I would go 50 in front and 35 in the rear

Really doing 50 all the way around isn't going to make a big difference in my opinion.

Agreed.

It really depend on where you are and whether they crack down on that sort of thing. I usually do even all around and haven't had any issues - but I also try to avoid other things that may draw attention

my car came with the rear windows tinted only. What's the chance I can get a reputable place to match the fronts with whatever they have?

I'm rocking 35% on all windows except the windshield and have never had any legal issues with cops. It's dark enough that it looks good, but light enough that you can still see through it.

I also have 50% on the entire windshield. It's all ceramic and helps keep the UV and heat low in the summer.

I always like the look the same tint front and back as it gives the car a more consistent look and streamlines the car.

I like 50% all around. That's what I've done with my last few cars. But if you like it darker, go 35% all around.

35% all around for sure. Ask the tint shop but if memory serves performance wise that's the cutoff where everything higher is same sort of performance, then anything darker you get minimal extra benefit. 35 is lightest you can do to get max benefit if that makes sense.

35% is a great tint. I found it a little on the light side in direct sunlight so i went with 25% this time around and love it.

Being able to notice more than a single shade of tint is a faux pas.

I have 35 all around and I'm happy with it. I wouldn't mind go a bit darker though.

As others have said, 35% going all around would look the best. Also, tint is less noticeable on darker cars. I have been running 35/20 on all my cars (all darker colors) and have never gotten a ticket. However, my friend with 35/35 on a white car got a ticket.

This is why I got 70% all around (including the windshield). Personally I wouldn't want any darker than this on a white car.

In any case... as others have said I would keep the tint consistent front to back. Either 50/50 all around so you don't have to worry about a ticket... or 35 all around and roll the dice.
