2009 CTS-V *** Thoughts?
Opinions? $65K estimated for the Blue Devil Corvette engine (LSA) with 550HP and 550 (INSANE) Torque... will the 2009 CTS-V tear itself apart or what? Kind of like that trick in the movies where the front half tears off from the rear.

I cant ignore 550hp/tq. The smoke made by the tires will get my attention sooner rather then later... and for 65k....the deal couldn't be any sweeter
The only thing I am disappointed is by its back. Could have added a quad exhaust

The interior is gorgeous, as to the body... I think the front is kind of odd. Other than that... a good buy for the money. Remember the LSA engine??? Same one as in the "Blue Devil" Corvette... This ain't Grandpa's Caddy.

I really, really like this car. Although I don't know if I'd every buy it, because it's with some tough company in its price range. I'm almost over the iffy front (still not likin the mesh), but everything else about the car is amazingly well done. It's aggressive on the outside, classy and sporty on the inside, most likely fun to drive, and its a great bargain. What more could ya ask for?

I think the value is in the engine and transmission... the numbers are literally scary. The Blue Devil Corvette is a $100,000.00 PLUS car. You're getting the same motor (although slightly detuned) putting out 550HP and 550 Torque at $65K maybe $70K loaded up... Plus the new GM warranty on the powertrain is great. Cadillac has always built a decent car, maybe not German in their approach but Not bad, not bad at all...

The square design has grown on me. I didn't like it in the last version but saw one on the street the other day and it was nice. I think the CTS coupe looks even better.

I don't know... I think they may have the "shut down four cylinders" approach. However, knowing the way I drive... I'd be looking for gas stations every other day. With that V8 (and high torque) the gas mileage might surprise you....

i dont think caddy is "getting there" at all. but american cars can only compete with hp/torque war pretty well. im sure they have something to offer, but i dont think they're anywhere near "there"

GM has come a long way in the past years. They continue to offer products that chew up and spit out everything europe has to offer, and it's a great way to get even better cars for the consumer.
Corvette continues to push Porsche to build better, faster sportscars that keep value in mind. GM/Dodge keep building sedans that are the match for anything that the Germans can produce in everything but style and cache. It's a great environment for the car guy. Cars from EVERYONE just keep getting better and better. They're talking about strapping turbos on the next M5! Without the G35, there would be no N54 engine. Competition is a lovely thing. |

65K for crazy HP & TQ and a very nice interior is a hell of a deal...65K is M3 territory and it doesn't have near that power or that nice an interior....

The warranty makes it attractive also.. beat the hell out of the car for four years and eleven months and still get a new motor / transmission. Caddy's aren't really known for creaks and rattles... so I think it would be an enjoyable car. Gas mileage might be the only turn off... we'll have to wait and see.

So, what kind of people buy/drive M5's? Using your logic? This is a more practical version of a $110K Corvette with four doors and less "I want to steal that" factor. The handling and fuel mileage are the only two questions in my mind. We, as drivers.. live inside the car and that interior is simply stunning !!!
