Robot Lawnmower...Anyone have one?

I've been looking at these and am just wondering if anyone has one and does it really work? They look tempting but I am reading the reviews and wondering if they are ready for the real world yet.

Couple that I have been looking at...

https://www.amazon.com/Landroid-Robo..._d_product_top

https://www.amazon.com/Robomow-RS612...f_=pd_sbs_86_1

and

https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/grq/5607116913.html

Does any have one that does work, or that they hate? Thanks for the input.

Mowing the lawn in and of itself takes VERY little time so long as you do not have too many obstacles.

It's the edging and weeding that kills your weekend.

Your is statement is kinda relative. You have no idea of the ops health or size of yard. Sometimes technology makes things we couldn't do before attainable.

Sorry but i have a economics final pretty soon and I'm going to kick it's ass.

I'm waaaay too anal about the lines the mower makes to have a robot wandering about leaving drunken sailor mowing marks.

Tell me more... we are the same way. Do you have a consistent "pattern" or is it as simple as straight lines that alternate in direction with each mowing?

seriously. that video looks horrible. Just go in straight lines not all over the place randomly, it's not even efficient just randomly cutting grass like that, let alone it will look like shit.

$1000? find a neighborhood kid who wants to make $20 pushing your shitty old lawn mower around. $20 cut every other week $40 a month. Depending on your growing season lets say 8 months granted at the beginning and end it needs cuts less also gas to consider something like $250 a year. So it would take around 4-5 years to ever pay for itself for hassle free lawn mowing. I'd rather pay a kid than a corporation.

I mix it up, mow every 4-5 days and stick to a couple patterns at a time, otherwise it gets too much. You can get a nice crisscross pattern.

I also edge and use the string trimmer every other mow, fertilize every other month, and lime twice a year.

Every other month???

Really? Seems like a lot but I am all ears in terms of thickening the lawn to keep the weeds out.

Seems like most people would tend to agree! I personally would LOVE this little machine, that is if it works properly.

i just started doing a criss cross pattern and I think im going to start putting designs into the lawn.

takes so much time cause youre basically mowing everything twice, but it looks so nice.

i fertilize and weed kill every month during the summer. Havent had a weed in my lawn since I bought the house a year ago after having a ton when i bought it.

My next trick i need to figure out is how to get that deep green look. My one neighbor and I both spend tons of time on our lawns and while it is a nice green color and thick, my other neighbor that never does shit to his lawn has such a nice color to his lawn.
