thought on mounting camera to helmet CHIN bar?
so i'm thinking of mounting my gopro to my helmet for a first person perspective for my next track day i have 2 gopros (because my life is so extreme!!) so i'll have another one mounted to the windshield with a suction cup anyone mount on the same spot? is this very dangerous? in case of airbag deployment? is the weight of the gopro in front and so low going to be distracting? should i mount to the side? please tell me your thoughts

suction cups are fine but use proper mounts like the gopro oem, or a multi-cup affair, not the cheap chinese knockoff crap. however with a suction cup you want to also have a backup keeper like ziptie or 550 cord to manage the chaos should the cup come loose.
For instance when I run a gopro on my windshield the best place I found that keeps it out of my vision is next to/sorta behind the rearview mirror in which case I also run a zip tie to the empty blendmount. if it falls it falls about an inch and half. for phone mounting use the ram X mount. You can also use RAM and other mounts to hard clamp to say the seat headrest support.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Schumacher have a cam mounted on his ski helmet ? When he struck the rock, the solid camera went straight through and ... well, we know the rest.

correct - these things have a habit of turning into missiles.
you can rig up your own harness and fix it to the headrest struts on the passenger side. |

i ended up mounting the gopro to the side of the helmet
but yes, i recognize the danger hence posting the question in the first place i do think a proper headrest mount would be best but it was interesting to have a little bit of actual first person perspective like turning my head to look over my shoulder while driving
