HID Kit Buzzing noise
I recently installed KENSUN HID KIT I bought from amazon along with relay kit and error canceller. My driver side lights are working fine for both low and high beam with no noise... but my passenger side lights are driving me nuts with the buzzing noise that I can even hear clearly inside the cabin with all doors and windows closed. Anyone have an insight on an issue like this?

A Warning Canceler has evolved into a generic term for either a big capacitor or a dummy (ceramic resistor) load.. or both. Depending on what kind you got, and how its hooked up, it will explain both your buzzing and your dash errors.
If you have the capacitor-based warning canceler hooked up right, it should take care of the pulsing that comes when driving an HID kit relay with a PWM signal which BMW uses on their cars. The dash errors are occurring because your cold/warm diagnostic checks are not detecting the correct load that the car expects with these new HIDs. If you got a dummy-load based warning canceler, and assuming it was hooked up right, it should take care of the dash errors. The fact that you are experiencing it only on one side indicates that you either have the passenger side warning canceler hooked up wrong or that the warning canceler itself might be faulty. The easiest way to fix everything all at once is to code both the Low/High beams so that you tell the car that the low/high beams are LEDs (disables the PWM), and to tell the car to stop checking the load to indicate bulb malfunction (disables the warm/cold diagnostics). If that is not an option for you, then i would re-check all the wiring on the passenger side. Assuming that all checks out, i would ask amazon to replace the warning canceler you are using on that side. |
