So popped into the auction yesterday, and came home with this.

Done with the 335i.

It's got engine issues?

I'm interested as to why you need a whole new N55 block. The oldest of them are barely 6 years old.
If it's something serious and the car has full service history then goodwill from BMW is likely.
If history is poor then caveat emptor I guess.
There are tonnes on eBay from breakers.

Thanks, can't see any 55's on eBay.

I want to find a "standby" engine before the head is removed.
No compression on cylinder 5. Could be just a valve or valve spring, or worse.

Car owes me 15k but probably prepared to sell it as is and take a good hit.

Two of those engines would be of interest, but a little too far. Hopefully find somewhere nearer London. No great rush.
