Corrosive Alloy 313m

Hi, I contacted BMW over the 19" Rear Alloy going corrosive around the centre cap that they replaced under warranty 17months ago for the same problem and this is there reply Hi Paul, I tried to call to explain, the retail price for the wheel is £491 + vat, retail labour to replace wheel is £101.25 + vat (I have discounted the labour to (£67.50) for you,

Labour 67.50 + vat
20% parts 98.00 + vat

£198.60inc My contribution .

Unfortunately you do not get warranty on warranty work, I have contacted BMW and explained you had the wheel replace 17 months ago under warranty and that you are a good loyal customer and for this reason they have granted you 80% parts goodwill that is a generous offer,

What do you guys think ????

I was always under the impression new BMW parts came with a two year warranty.

If they don't budget, I'd take the wheel and get it fitted at my local reputable tyre shop, I'm sure they won't charge more than twenty quid

Unfortunately it is true. BMW warranty items are not covered by the 2 year guarantee.

So does this mean you can get a brand new diamond cut rear 19" 313 wheel for £117.60 from BMW? I would purchase the wheel at that price, get it fitted at your local tyre specialist (for around £25) and then sell the old one. You should be able to recover your costs plus some. I might even be interested myself if I can't get my current set sold as 1 of the wheels has had a repair.

I'd pay for the wheel and then get it fitted somewhere else. £80 labour to swap out a wheel and tyre is an utter disgrace - costs me £25 for 4!!!!

Hi , I have to pay £198.60 that's my contribution towards wheel and fitment. Just got this back from them ,
Hi Paul, all warranty work has to be carried out by us, I will discount the labour further to £50 + vat so your contribution would be £177.60inc.
Cheers

I had three sets of 313's on my E92, the set it came with when i brought it from a BMW dealer and two replacement sets because of corrosion round the centre caps all within two years of ownership and all replaced free of charge by my dealer
