X1 M / M40i ?

My wife is in the market for a midsize BMW SAV, we originally had our sights on a F24 X4 M40i, but have some reservations regarding the dated interior and the fact the new X3/X4 M40 will probably be out in a couple of years.

We really like the new F48 X1 and we are wondering if anybody has information or timeline on the availability for a X1 M / M40.

Danke

You have to understand that the 35 and 40 are not referring to engine capacity anymore but more to model distinctions in the X1. The 35i will not be the straight six. It is more likely to be called the 40i as It will be modified 4 pot 2 litre similar to what Merc is now doing. Not that that is bad thing. A light weight 4 pushing out 285 to 310kw in a X1 'Yes please'
