I have spoken with a Chinese supplier of down pipes and now I am confused, they say that for my 2012 335i there has to be a little piece of flex tube on the down pipe? Please see attached photos.
I mean the down pipe has to be whit out flex tubing? Is there someone there can help me here. Is it picture no 1 or 2? |

I believe the difference in the images you posted are PWG vs EWG cars perhaps. I know the downpipe for my 2014 is not the same as the 2012-13 cars. Not to mention that most Chinese suppliers like that just steal images from people. What you see in the picture may not be what you actually need.
Maybe you contact a legit supplier like ER or VRSF and get one that is specific to your car and engine. :-/

the correct downpipe for you is the bottom image. The difference in downpipes is only that 7/2013 and earlier are 3.5 inch and anything newer is 4 inch. VRSF is a great company for a solid price, plus it comes ceramic coated.. dont go with a random chinese supplier!!!!

I do plan to get JB4 as well.
I think nearly all down pipes are produced in China anyway, but maybe I will make my own as I am stainless steel fabricator and welder. Thanks for all your help so far. |

All downpipes are definitely NOT produced in China.
There is a difference between 7/13 and earlier cars compared to 2014+ downpipes. The flex section is not necessary with the aftermarket downpipes. |

4" down pipe needed for 10/12 build date
Quote:
Not sure how accurate that is. I have a build date of 10/12 and i need the 4" one without the flex tubing. I found out the hard way and VRSF shipped the 3.5 and it was clearly too long. Any one else have this same issue?

pre 07/13 is 3.5" with the flex section post 07/13 is the 4.0" DP You always have 1% of the car which do not follow the rules above, unfortunately you were one of the unlucky customers We encounter this problems with tunes as well
