Potenza Re-71r
Anybody has used Extreme Performance Summer tires such as RE-71R in Northwest winter? I know it is not intended so, just want to know some first-hand experiences.

Bad idea. Not tried those but drove a little on my PSSs last winter. Fine until you hit ice and then... Hockey pucks. Got some Sottozeros going on this winter.

I know ice and snow are big no no.
But if it is just cold, will the temperature ruin the tire integrity somehow, or it is just slippery? |

When the temps dropped to low 40s, I noticed a big loss in traction when the road was wet. Pulled out of my neighborhood one October morning last year, and went sideways when I gave it some gas. (This was on my PSS tires) Decided right then and there it was time to get the winter tires out of storage.

Aren't those R-compound tires? In any case, they really have no business being on the road in the wet, let alone in colder temperatures.
