Custom Exhaust or PE?

What do you guys think re: Custom exhaust route vs BMW performance exhaust?

I'm undecided what to go with.

I went Custom, save money and get similar results. Makes sense for a 10 year old car tbf.

I was initially after a PE exhaust but couldn't justify spending that much for sound as the PE prices are high.

It's a E92 325i. The PE is appealing but it's still retailing at £500+ which is stupidly high still.

The other thing I am not too keen on is the tips, they look a little on the thin side, I'd prefer the thicker rolled almost factory like ones, but perhaps 3" instead of the factory 2"?

Soundwise ideally a little deeper at idle with a nicer rumble at high revs but no motorway drone, just something subtle.

Solid Fabrications, someone from here recommended me.

Based in Orpington. I still have the exhaust going for cheap if anyone wants it.

I moved up to a 335i now.

I have that for sale, but there is somewhat some drone on the motorway.
I mostly do local driving so didn't bother me, I wanted a roar as it was my first 6 cyl engine

What are the tip sizes on the stock exhaust? Just wondering what the difference would be going to 3"

Yep - I've ordered my PE, came in at just over £400. Great reviews, OEM and no drone

I was quoted over £800 by Cotswold to supply and fit a 330i PE exhaust.

It cost me £575 from leebman24 and £40 for an exhaust shop to install.

I recently had my exhaust system fitted by Power Flow, quad tips and performance rear box's from Total £500, this was from the Y back and sounds spot on.

It did come with the BMW PE rear box's but sounded like a F1 starting up in the morning and was very raspy, so it was removed and sold to another member.

You should be able to Google Power Flow in your area or some other exhaust fabricator and for a single rear performance box should be lots cheaper.

I was going to go with leebman24 too but i noticed that BMW Direct ebay had slashed theirs prices a lot especially on PE's so asked Cotswold and got a nice surprise. Only downside is the slight delay in delivery but im happy to wait

If I could get the PE for around the £400 mark I'd be interested. Don't really want to be paying upwards of 500 for a backbox.
