MY17 440i GC: how to remove OEM exhaust tips?

Does anyone know or can point to a link with instructions how to remove OEM exhaust tips (vehicle: MY17 440i GC)?

After additional research, it look like the exhaust tips are held by internal strings. Using the rubber mallet, carefully application of even taps to the framing hammer will force the tips off of the spring.

Recent experience is always appreciated.

Bang it really hard with a rubber mallet against the framing hammer
Comes off with some muscle
