All I'm looking at getting a 2016 fully loaded x1. With the 17s hitting the lots what should I be looking for for a discount? Below invoice?

Looks like there is a $2,000 option allowance incentive for the '16 models, putting a below invoice price well within possibility, assuming you can find one you want.
