Angry Grrrr!

Went to wash mine today and discovered that some person of careless ancestry had keyed it

Not the first or last to have this happen, but still bloody annoying (And expensive).

Garage List
ouch. that looks like it goes straight down to base metal. is this a common thing in the UK? do you park on the street at home or was this while shopping/work?

I am absolutely for the death penalty for people who fck with a man's car.

Happens quite often, although it's more than 10 years since I've suffered. According to the bloke from ChipsAway there's been an outbreak locally.

The car normally lives on our driveway, although it may have happened in a supermarket carpark.

Use Non alcoholic Substance

I feel your pain.

Try use non alcoholic nail varnish remover with a soft microfibre cloth. That should help.

You know i saw an elderly man in the UK do it to a car in front of me. He was at least 60! I got out quickly and held him and call police. But these things are so common, my previous three cars have been keyed. I just pray my X1 does not.

Bloody hell Vogit.........I know what it's like and feel really sorry for you.
Since my last 'ding' I'm still angry and would love to get hold of the b*****d that did it.
Trouble is nobody from the police or car park owners are bothered and nothing seems to get done to these morons. I'm with Phaeton!

Unfortunately it's down to the metal, so needs filling and painting. Or did you mean I use it recreationally? (In which case I want the alcohol!)

Looks great, did they fill the scratch with a colour match system or fill and partially spray the panel?

Excellent - thanks for the update. It is good to know that this sort of damage is repairable. What is the approx cost of this sort of job Vogit?

The latter. I asked the guy how they colour matched the paint, since he hadn't asked about the colour (Or even make of car). They have a multipoint colourimeter, which then gives them a mix for the paint.

£168 for this one: don't know what a bodyshop would charge.

They charged me £180 for a "smart repair" (including courtesy car). Scuffs and scratches on the front bumper, about the same price as yours more or less. Car was ready within 24hrs.
