Custom Midpipe or CAI

Which would net more "gain"- both are minimal I know

Which would add more characteristic to the car?

Don't know about the midpipe thing--maybe Chicken_Joe could give an opinion as he has been playing around with this stuff. I think CAI and regular intake are pretty much a waste of money unless you want one for the cool look in the engine bay. Maybe for $50 or so cool...but what is a CAI? Like $400...for what 8hp? And a little sound. Might as well go further than both of those and just put an exhaust on.

I've spoken with Chicken_Joe already. And I agree with the power for price on the intake, and only planned on buying a used one.

As for the mid-pipe I'm not sure if it's even worth replacing . Or cutting out the resonator then adding a j-pipe to reduce drone. I already have no mufflers or cats and the sound is bareable for me

Honestly, I have done some extensive exhaust work on my car. These cars come with a factory 3" OD exhaust. The tubing is .065 in thickness which means the rest of the piping is 2.935 which is more then enough to support FBO. true 3 inch ID would not hurt but its not needed. Most characteristic wise for me is easy, res delete. Give the car a really nice growl but isn't overbearing. As for the intake, that one of those things I refuse to purchase so for me I literally just found the thread on this forum for the airbox mod and did that. Could not be happier. Literally cost nothing assuming you have all the tools at home and the noises are awesome. Plus it takes like 10 minutes to do. all you need afer is a drop in filter if you want to feel sporty lol

Looks like since the stock mid-pipe is no restriction. I'll be doing a res delete with a branch resonator to get rid of drone.
Can you link me to the stock air box modification thread?

Midpipe will add more sound ... In terms of gains i would say intake since with an FBO car intake will add 5-10 whp at high RPM.
