B12 Ride Height

Hi guys, does the ride height below look normal for a recently installed B12 kit?

Give it 2500 or so miles. It will settle during this time period. It looks a little high but it will lower with time

hard to tell because of distance and lighting, but looks about right.

Yeah not a great photo. The resolution seems to have gone to shit when I posted it too. Hopefully it'll drop down another 1/4 inch or so over the next few months. I've put about 1,200 miles on it since the install.

Generally speaking it's pretty good. I wouldn't say it has transformed the car though. The Eibach Pro Kit spring rates are basically the same as the M Sport spring rates, but the B8 dampers are stiffer than stock. In terms of ride along a typical straight and imperfect road, it is maybe 25% firmer, but at the same time the dampers absorb the bumps far better than stock.

In terms of cornering, it's better than stock due to the firmer dampers, but again, it isn't a staggering change. I still find it has a little too much roll in corners, but to improve that I'm looking at an H&R anti roll bar kit.

I think with the anti roll bar kit and M3 front arms it would be a far better set up.

be careful going gung ho with sway bars. a little roll lets you know what the car is doing. drive fast around corners and determine if you really need flatter/faster. too stiff bars can cause more instant oversteer and loss of control.

Looks a tad bit high compared to when I had the B12. My fenders came to just below where the tread of the tires were.

True, and in reality I don't have the balls to push the limits of the car anyway.

That's what I was hoping for too, but for some reason it's sitting a little high.

Don't be entirely surprised if that's as low as it goes. The B12 kit on my E91 did not lower it much at all - not sure why it's so inconsistent. I didn't mind myself, as winters here are awful and I didn't want very low to begin with. I also came from a worn out base suspension, so the handling improved substantially for me, which certainly helped with my minor disappointment in the ride height.

You are on the right track with the M3 arms and the H&R sway bar - made a big difference to me, and actually brought the front down a bit too. Nice looking ride btw!
