What the what is this noise?
2011 335d with cold weather package. Strange squealing noise in the interior under braking.
I'm 95% sure this is blower related and I'm hoping someone has sorted it out previously before we start tearing into the dash. Noise only happens under braking when the blower is on. Blower off = no noise. I'm thinking there's a bearing going bad or something is loose and when I apply the brakes something shifts forwardly and creates the squeaking noise. If I come to a very gradual stop it will continue for a second or two before going away. If I stop quickly it stops immediately. It started yesterday very intermittent (thought it was brake squeal at first - it IS NOT the brakes) but now it happens almost every time I apply the brakes with the fan running. |

Take off the cowl filter and look to see if anything is in the fan. Also might want to check out the vents under the seats, sometimes things can get in them.
