To tint or not to tint?
I'm thinking of getting my rears tinted 35% which what I had on my old car (vauxhall) but I'd like to see pictures of peoples tints, especially for the rear windscreen as I'm curious as to how the dot matrix around the window will turn out after putting tints on..whether or not it spoils the look of the car (from close up).
any help will be appreciated. Cheers. |

My 2 cents...
I know it's not legal in some European countries to tint the side windows in the front. I think it looks weird with just the back windows tinted and would not do it. |

It's not legal in many states. In many where it's legal the limit is 70%, and that's what the stock BMW glass is. OTOH in most European countries you can order OEM privacy glass on cars, while here it's only available on SUVs and vans.

Yea it's illegal in the UK to tint front windows, but many people do..some get away, some don't. I think you could safely get away with 70% tint, but they are slightly tinted from factory anyways.
I think I may just leave getting the back ones done. |

I stopped tinting my last 3 cars. Before that I had Huper Optic Ceramic and I would ONLY get ceramics for my car if I was to tint again.
As I get older, the look has grown sour on me. Having said that, the lighter the better. Too dark and you look like you are trying way too hard and it becomes difficult to see at night.

Don't like it.
I was thinking about doing it, but after a rented Ford with a tinted rear/back windows convinced me I didn't like it. It always felt like it was dusk. |

I just added tints to my side windows and rear window (35%, legal limit in Colorado). My car is Glacier Silver and the tint makes it look awesome. In addition, I got the Suntek Carbon and it cuts down the UV to help maintain the interior. I live more than a mile above sea level and the sun is fairly strong up here.

I have 35% on both BMWs...works quite well, and isn't too dark to seriously impede outward vision at night.

I have my car tinted at 35% all around. I could have gone with 20% for the rear windows and rear windshield but decided not to because I like the uniform look.
Coupes can pull off staggered tints, but I find staggered tints not so attractive on sedans. |

I am a big fan of tint. I've had 9 cars tinted. I uniform tint all windows except the windshield. Not a fan of tint only on the rear half of any car.
Most tint jobs were 20% and metallic tint but my Alpine White 340i on Coral Red is tinted 35% with ceramic. Will definitely go ceramic from here on in but should have gone 40% or 50% on my Alpine White. 35% isn't dark to me but I think it would have looked better with less contrast. Tint away! Dot matrix is no issue with a good tint job. |

No way I would have non-tinted windows down here with our summers.

I tint all my vehicles (35% + 70% Windshield nano-ceramic). I do not do it for the look or privacy; I do it for the heat and UV reduction.
