Here are some pictures that I took at the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway (sorry, they are cell phone pics). I had a good time, till it started raining. Then it was just too cold and wet to really enjoy.

The #19 M6 GTLM Art Car on the grid.

I was more than a little bit thrilled to meet these guys

Up close and personal with the #24 BMW M6 GTLM.

Bill Auberlen strikes a blue steel pose as Bobby Rahal and Augusto Farfus fraternize with well heeled spectators.

The C7.R has fender flares for days.

Turner Motorsports' #96 M6 GT3 rounds the International Horseshoe on a formation lap.

The #24 and #19 BMW M6 GTLM cars get as close as they will all day to the #69 Ford GT on a formation lap around the International Horseshoe.

The #19 and #24 BMW M6 GTLM cars round the International Horseshoe.

Night falls on Daytona International Speedway as the field starts to spread following a restart.

The Gas Monkey Energy PC car takes the inside line through T1 with the #68 Ford GT close behind.

The field rounds the tri-oval under a full-course yellow.

The JDC-Miller #85 Oreca prototype's brakes glow as they brake hard coming off the oval in to T1.

I found this guy stomping around outside the grandstands.

Looks awesome. Soooo. Do hotels in the area have secure parking for cars? I don't tend to leave my car outside with $5k sets of wheels on them lol.

I'm sure some of the hotels would have security cameras in their parking, but I would still be worried about my wheels. A lot of nice cars come out to the event, so I might worry about thieves targeting the area. But I've never heard of anything like that at Rolex.

Yea there's always nice cars at events like this. Definitely targets for thieves. Hell even at NASCAR events here in my hometown people come out and raid the campgrounds while folks are at the race.

Yeah, honestly, no way I'd leave $5k in wheels on around Daytona. Rent a compact for two days. It's worth it!
